Spring Branch Independent School District (SBISD) encompasses about 44 square miles of wooded suburbs and vibrant business and retail districts located west of downtown Houston in Harris County. SBISD educates children from all over the world, and its student body reflects the increasing diversity of Texas and the nation.

Opportunity Culture Texas (OC-TX) is one pathway for Spring Branch ISD candidates interested in becoming a certified teacher. OC-TX offers tiered-level teaching experiences for paraprofessionals with increased professional development opportunities. OC-TX has pathways for experienced teachers to increase compensation and professional development. 

Another pathway for candidates interested in becoming a certified teacher is through the district’s partnership with Teach for America (TFA). The candidates receive training through Teach for America and the district provides additional support by partnering with Teaching Excellence to provide professional development and supervision.  

Spring Branch ISD conducts a New Teacher Academy to provide teachers quality professional development and resources. The district has a strong mentoring program in which new teachers are partnered with experienced SBISD teachers. New teachers work with our Personalized Professional Learning Team to grow and develop in the best instructional practices. Spring Branch ISD also has several partnerships with both in-state and out-of-state universities. 

Spring Branch ISD is looking for candidates interested in building on the strengths of every child through personalized learning experiences in a safe, secure and professional environment. Our goal is to ensure that every student graduates with either a technical certification, military training, or a two-year or four-year degree; T-2-4 for every child!
