Channelview High School and San Jacinto College are proud to offer a partnered program to bring higher education to high school students. Through the P-Tech Gateway 2 Education program, students in ninth grade can begin taking steps towards their associate's degree alongside their high school diploma. If you are an eighth grade student at Channelview Independent School District, have a desire to earn a degree in education and want to fast-track your career to teaching, P-Tech Gateway 2 Education is available for sign up through your school academic counselor. 
In the program, you will be able to take classes at Channelview Highschool and in 11th grade, you will start taking dual enrollment classes at San Jacinto College. Throughout your time in the program, you will have access to mentors and career support that will prepare you for your future. With opportunities for work-based learning, internships and credentials, P-Tech gets you closer to your classroom. 
Graduates from the program will earn both their high school diploma as well as your Associates of Arts in Teaching (AAT). This pathway sets you up to transfer to a four year institution in order to complete teacher preparation and earn your teaching certificate.
