Scheduling a coaching session is easy! Just follow these simple steps:
Coaching is available to anyone brand-new to teaching — without a teaching credential or experience as a lead teacher in any state — who is living in the U.S., or is a U.S. citizen living abroad. If you’re not eligible for coaching, you can learn more about becoming a Houston teacher with the TEACH for Houston Certification Guide or from the Texas Education Agency.
Ricca is a high school English and ESL teacher in the Houston Independent School District. She received her B.A. in American Studies from Sewanee: The University of the South, and her M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Texas at Arlington. Ricca has served in education as a literacy teacher, consultant, reading interventionist, and instructional coach. She also participated in an alternative certification program. She is certified in (4-8) Generalists, (EC-12) ESL, and (EC-12) Reading Specialists.
Athenya is currently a High School Family Consumer Science teacher. She's also a former Second Grade teacher with fifthteen plus years of teaching experience. Athenya was named Teacher of the Year (2018-2019). She received her M.Ed in Instructional Design and Technology from West Texas A & M University. She also participated in an alternative certification program. She’s certified in (EC-4) Generalists and Family Consumer Science (6-12). Athenya is eager to share her expertise with future teachers.
Elena is a dedicated and passionate educator with 19 years of experience in education, committed to fostering a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for students to thrive. She believes in the power of education to inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and personal growth. She is very enthusiastic and looks forward to helping you explore different options to join the teaching profession.
