Center for Educator Success

The Pre-Service Phase of the Teacher Certification Program is designed to prepare you for successful entry into the classroom through rigorous instruction, hands-on practice and individualized support.

During this phase, you will build foundational knowledge in:

• Lesson integration

• Instructional planning and delivery

• Classroom management

• Student engagement strategies

• Assessment and data-driven instruction

• Culturally responsive teaching
   

District Partnership Pathway 

You will participate in a comprehensive Summer Intensive experience focused on classroom readiness and practical application. Through practice-based learning opportunities, you will get to engage in microteaching, collaborative learning experiences, instructional modeling and real-time feedback from experienced educators. 

The Internship Phase provides you with the opportunity to apply your learning in real classroom environments while continuing to receive coaching, mentorship and professional support from Center for Education Success and district partners.

During the internship experience, you will serve as a teacher of record while continuing to develop your instructional practice through ongoing observation, reflection and feedback.

Key components of the Internship Phase include:

• Instructional coaching and mentorship

• 11 High-touch classroom observations with actionable feedback cycles

• Progress monitoring and individualized support

• Continued certification exam support

• Professional development opportunities

• Reflective practice and goal-setting

• Regular mentor engagement

• Ongoing communication between program faculty and campus leadership

• Targeted interventions and instructional guidance when needed

You will engage in authentic teaching experiences, including:

• Microteaching

• Demonstration lessons

• Classroom simulations

• Instructional planning

• Real-time coaching and feedback

• A Summer Intensive experience

Mentoring and coaching are central components of the program experience.

You will receive ongoing support from experienced educators, instructional coaches, advisors and district partners throughout the program.

This support includes:

• Individualized coaching conversations

• Classroom observations and actionable feedback

• Goal-setting and progress monitoring

• Instructional modeling and reflection

• Certification guidance and professional support

• Responsive intervention and encouragement

The Center of Educator Success does not expect you to navigate the teacher certification process or your classroom experiences alone. You will benefit from a practice-based coaching model that focuses on your continuous growth and real-time application.

You will be prepared to effectively teach and support diverse student populations across a wide range of learning environments.

In the program, you will learn how to:
